Take control of Axel, our extraterrestrial axolotl protagonist, and eject out of your ship to take over another with the help of your
AI companion and house-key, K-33.
Vulnerable while ejecting from your current ship, damage enemy ships to pop their shields and temporarily disable them to make them easier to steal.
Work your way up the food chain, capturing bigger and bigger ships.
Ships will auto eject when destroyed, providing you an against-the-ropes last chance to carry on the current mission.
Select quests from various factions and plans your route before going out into the void. As you discover different ship types, collects data and scrap to escape with by completing the current mission.
If you're able to extract with those resources intact, they can be used to purchase new starting ships and upgrade technology trees.
New tech can unlock new ships and new functionality for existing ships.
Enemy factions have access to these technologies as well, making the game world more dynamic and varied the more the your game progresses.
Axel’s adventure is liberally seasoned with bits of story from a galaxy where the sun never set on a corrupt British Empire well into the space age.
With shutter-shade-wearing, techno-loving viking raiders pillaging supply lines, and mummified Pharaohs controlled by giant scarab beetles fighting for independence from their imperial overlords, Axel’s peaceful space-faring race of sentient Salamanders are just trying to get by.
Players must help Axel go to extremes to recover his family's only means of making a living - their cargo ship.
The Milky Way is quirky and unforgiving, and the ends absolutely do not justify the means, but this celestial axolotl and his AI house-key companion with questionable ethical boundaries are gonna do it anyways.
