The eFootball PES franchise has emerged as a rival to the traditional powerhouse FIFA. This 2021 update isn't much different from the last version of PES 2020, but the changes are noticeable. The jump between PES 2019 and PES 2020 has felt much more pronounced over the past three iterations, but the differences between PES 2020 and PES 2021 will only be known to those who consider football simulators as their favorite game on consoles of each generation. But that's not a bad thing for PES 2021. PES 2021 often has more to offer more established fans than regular viewers, and improvements made in gameplay and Master League, no matter how small, provide at least a few steps.
The best thing about PES in particular is its gameplay. In the case of FIFA, the movement of motion was realistically implemented to emphasize the hyper-realistic feeling of manipulation, but in the game, motions such as passing, shooting, and tackling are slower than users think, so I felt a lot of frustration. However, PES has an appropriate reaction speed and a sense of control to play the game based on the user experience. Most football fans will agree with this opinion.
The lack of change and a few shortcomings in the genre that shouldn't really exist at this point in the genre don't completely detract from what remains as a beautifully executed game. PES 2021 also has the benefit of refreshing honesty on the part of Konami that should be considered when valuing it as a standalone title, as it is priced lower than a full-fledged video game release and is treated like an update. It's more of a supplement to the PES 2020 formula than a serious attempt to take Konami's soccer simulation to the next level.
In particular, the accessibility of the Master League system and MyClub system among game contents is still showing the performance it showed in 2020, so it needs to be updated. The same can be said about issues, including licenses that have plagued the series over and over again and made for a laughable team name. All things considered, PES 2021 is the perfect entry point for those who missed PES 2020, and for those who already own it, 2020 is a great time to play with minor bugs and new content.
