--> UPDATED REVIEW BELOW <--
I started playing this game yesterday, so I'm not very far in the game and there's still a lot I don't know, but so far, I can say that the game is VERY generous. They're giving lots of gacha currency and while the rates for SSR characters is 1.5%, strangely enough, I ALWAYS get at least 1 SSR character with every 10 pulls. There was even two times when I got TWO SSR characters in one multi pull. At the beginning of the game(after the tutorial), you'll get enough free ressources to do 4 multi pulls.
Now that I've written my "review", I wanna comment on the message we see at the top of the screen.
I'm talking about this message:
"04/26, Closed beta launch date. Grand
Quest is a new open-world steampunk
fantasy RPG."
I need to correct two things. First, the "open world" part. I dunno who wrote this, but this game is NOT an open world game. The battle system is somewhat similar to the battle system in Isekai Memories. In other words, a turn per turn battle system that lets you press on a few buttons to attack and once you clear a wave of enemies, you automatically move forward to fight the next wave.
The next thing I wanna point out is the "Closed Beta" part. I'm not 100% sure about this, but I don't think this is a closed beta. I downloaded this game on the playstore and the name of the game was just "Grand Quest". When I download a closed beta or Early Access version on the playstore, the words CBT or EA are usually written in the name of the game. Also, the current version of the game is 1.1.6. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if this was a beta version, the game version would be below 1.0, no? When a game reaches version 1.0, it usually means that it's the official version of the game and not a beta version. Another thing I noticed is the "what's new" section on this game's page. It says that the last time this section was updated, it was on april 20th. That's 4 whole days before the "closed beta" started.
Anyway... I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I'll update this review in a few days, when I'll have made a bit of progress or if this game suddenly shuts down.
--MAY 4TH REVIEW UPDATE--
Even with the insane luck I had with my pulls at the beginning, I'm having a hard time clearing chapter 8. Right now, the only thing I can do is clear daily & weekly missions to get useful items to strengthen my characters and gacha currency.
This game has quite a few bugs.
Sometimes when I'm in battle, the characters(both allies and enemies) will stop moving and I'll only see the damage they deal and after a while, the enemies will disappear and poof! Stage clear! 😵‍💫
Some weekly quests are bugged too, which makes gacha currency farming even harder.
For example, the "reach silver rank in arena" mission. I'm already silver 3, almost 4, but I still can't collect the rewards from that mission. Same for the mission that asks us to clear 10 eventide stages, or whatever they're called. I cleared that stage over 25 times yesterday, but it says that I cleared it only 3 times.... 😭😭
Finally, for all of you lazy bums out there, here's the short version:
After playing this game for several days, the game is still loads of fun but progressing through the story and obtaining gacha currency is getting harder by the day.

Yeah, I know. The game was fun at the beginning, but it became pretty repetitive after a while. On top of that, I think I played the game for.... a month or something close to that but the devs never added more content to the game.

A better-than-average gacha that could use more content
Grand Quest just entered open beta, and as someone who's always searching for my next go-to gacha game, I had to give it a shot. So far, I'm definitely pretty impressed, though it has some work to go. Perhaps the biggest surprise in Grand Quest, especially when compared to other gacha games, is that the story is pretty entertaining and well-translated. Much of it is told through stylish comic book-panel cutscenes, and I was shocked to find myself actually enjoying getting to know these characters.
