On mobile, when you think of open world PC class racing game you might think of CarX Street. But there is something coming, the NEED FOR SPEED MOBILE!
Let's talk what make this game is "Thé" racing game for mobile:
Let's start with graphics. The game is beautiful. The rendering is PC class, completely mimicking Need for Speed Heat and Need for Speed Unbound. The shadow is soft and cascaded nicely, the color is punchy while being dynamic and pleasing, the decals are high resolutions, breakable environment are satisfying, weather is believable, and the best so far is the view of the city is just so so good!
The car themselves are so well defined, the small details are intricate and high quality, while the reflection of the car is so Next Gen!
So, the important part is: the game is playable on your device! Well, hopefully... The minimum is snapdragon 710 and equivalent. I can't test that on the lowest possible spec but from what I feel, snapdragon 870 runs ultra at literally unshaken 60fps, it can even boost more if you set the fps to Ultra (90fps), although the phone will start heating up to the point of slowdowns so it can't keep 90fps all the time. Considering snapdragon 710 has around 40% the power of snapdragon 870 based on AnTuTu V10, we can say at the lowest you can still play at Ultra at 30fps, which is plenty for racing game.
Based on simple comparison above, you can see that most material and post processing including shadows are disabled for Low. This provides recommend for 90fps gameplay.. however I should note that anything above 40fps for this game is not giving any gameplay benefit, the reaction time needed for this game is slow enough that performance won't matter competitively.
Starting Medium we start to see most detail are resolving, ultimately upon textures. However draw distance are limited so you often see breakable objects pops up in front of your car. Even character detail is severely different than what we got on High
High is the best and recommended options. Not only the beautiful soft dynamic shadows is present, there are ambient occlusion happening on objects, materials has displacement and screen space reflection is applied on almost all surfaces to create nice dark-white scene to be more contrast. The most beautiful thing you'll see is reflection of light sources at night or rain which only visible at High and beyond. The game still smooth sailing at 60fps in High on Snapdragon 870, which is why it's recommended. Not only that the phone never get hot, only slight warm, which doesn't end on throttling.
How about above high? There are ultra and movie. Which as far as I see, only cubemap reflection on cars updated more frequently. This is already beyond good and unperceptive for small screen like a phone. If you plan on playing this game using external display, Ultra or Movie might help you. But as far as playing on phone display it serve no benefit.
So what about the actual game itself? Oh they are FUN! The cars starts fast enough to make it interesting, while it's not too fast for the new to learn mechanic of NFS Arcade physics efficiently. The point is it's quick, it's fun, the match length are make sense, the game mode gives good balance and dynamic that will keep you in the game for much longer.
Not only racing for money or progress or something like that, you get to do so much more.
1. There are regular "League" races. Which you can say it's the official racing so cops won't be there. Although league races mostly gets you money instead of ranks and progress. So it's like the "Day" cycle in NFS Heat if you've played it. You can play alone, or ask a friend to be in a team and hope none suck too bad to drag your score down :)
2. Hot pursuit. Yes, THAT hot pursuit. Many abilities, many races, increase heat = increased special forces that haunt you. You need to get certain score to be able to bail as victory. The cops only present when you are in Hot Pursuit mode, which basically do series of "illegal" races to increase your heat. However... Here's the twist:
3. COP mode hot pursuit. Yes bro there is COP mode! You can be a Cop just like in NFS Rivals (but actually closer to NFS Unbound multiplayer). Have faster car with bountiful nitros, amazing gadgets, fair mechanic. It's just so much fun being cop. Some will think this is very hard mode and they didn't enjoy it, but for me, being a predator is always fun!
4. Odd jobs. So this is like a story when you play NFS Payback. You can drive weird cars, modded cars, weird tracks, even ... Trucks??? Chopper?!!! Yeah you'll see what I mean when you go along the story missions.
The game is paced so well, there aren't many cars at launch but I don't see why won't some be added very soon. the upgrades are strong, and you achieve them by using your own car. This is a great way to bond you and your favorite car without feeling left in performance number with other players.
I can't comment on Microtransactions as the time being, but we all can just hope that they don't disturb performance meta much when the game released. Maybe the scenario where I think is acceptable is they make a lot of cosmetic locked behind microtransaction.
About gacha, well yes they use it. If you don't get a car, you get customization for any car, and after 20 draws a guarantee is present for getting a permanent car.
So, this game is the game you racer are waiting for. From the flawless graphics and performance, interesting gameplay, satisfying progression, and guarantee based gacha. And if you are NFS Nerd... THIS WILL GIVE YOU ALL THE NFS YOU KNOW AND LOVE!!! This game will fill your day! See you soon, Speedie
i have samsung a24 with helio g99 and 6 ram i can play it with meduim graphic or low?

I really think Low would be more suitable because you need big Performance overhead when playing. this is for avoiding crashes and make your phone less prone to overheating.

2024-03-24

2024-03-24
when will be the release of this game? im using realme gt master edition.
2024-03-18
No information on that yet. in fact it's still going to do another closed beta first. then open beta. then... second open beta maybe. So still months and months ahead. Realme GT Master Edition was one of the best option for mid head-to-head with Poco F3. it's a really good choice because the camera hardware is plain better than Poco. nice phone
