The most original horror game I’ve played in ages - Killer Frequency Quick Review

PLAY IT OR SKIP IT? Play it if you’re even the slightest fan of horror games. Killer Frequency is an incredibly unique first-person horror game where you take on the role of a small-town night-shift radio DJ. There’s just one twist: A killer is stalking the town during your shift, and all of the town’s 911 calls are being routed through to your station. This means a lot of the “action” is just standing behind a desk, picking which tunes to play and trying to keep innocent people alive with your words alone. Don’t let the limited setting fool you, though; this is a deeply creative game that kept surprising me with new challenges.

Ever wish that Disco Elysium had more minotaurs and more steampunk? Check out Sovereign Syndicate

In 2019, Disco Elysium took the gaming world by storm and showed how RPGs could focus much more on storytelling and do a much better job of emulating the feeling of playing at a tabletop. Now we're just starting to see the first wave of games that seem clearly inspired by Disco Elysium, and this one just might be the first must-play RPG of 2024. This is Sovereign Syndicate, a CRPG being made by a small indie team in Canada. Like Disco Elysium, it's an RPG that's more heavily focused on narrative and dialogue, but it also sets itself apart in some key ways. For one, it's got a unique Victorian steampunk setting that looks absolutely fantastic. Fantasy creatures like minotaurs, dwarves, and cyclopes are mixed together with grimy factories, smokestacks, and zeppelins. And it all takes place in London!

here. This game is an entirely text based rpg. It has good writing and good controls. Unlike tthe other nominations this game doesn't have stuff like animation to prop it up, I nominate this game because I feel the writing and the few in game illustrations shown is able to compete with the other AAA game nominations.

The Life is Strange devs shift from reality to fantasy - Harmony: The Fall of Reverie Quick Review

PLAY IT OR SKIP IT? Play it if you’re a fan of visual novels or narrative-driven games. Harmony: The Fall of Reverie is a choice-based game from the developers of Life Is Strange, and while it doesn’t quite capture that game’s slice-of-life magic, it still tells a rich and fascinating story. Set in the not-too-distant future, Harmony follows Polly, a seemingly ordinary woman who returns to her hometown after her mother goes missing. Before she can start her search, Polly discovers that she’s actually an oracle that can travel to a magical realm called Reverie and see the future before it unfolds. Now, she must use her newfound power to make tough decisions and restore balance to two very different worlds.

MINDS BENEATH US REVIEW - A THRILLER OF MORAL CHOICES!

Whether you appreciate games for their storylines, world-building, or exciting action sequences, their capacity to entice you into their intricate worlds is often times a very challenging ordeal, especially when they are presented in a visually simple way, there are a variety of reasons why I could see you really getting into the M.B.U universe. Although there were times when the gameplay was slow, and I mean very slow, I truly appreciated everything that the game had to offer as a morally right/wrong choice.

This mix of Dungeons & Dragons and gacha is like a much better Raid: Shadow Legends

I've probably played and reviewed at least two or three dozen different gacha games at this point, but every once in a while I still manage to be really surprised and impressed by one. Dragonheir: Silent Gods is one of the most immediately intriguing and captivating gacha games I've played in ages, and one that I'm definitely planning to stick with. The first thing to know about Dragonheir is that every part of it is openly inspired by tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons. In fact, the PC version of the game has even done an official collaboration with D&D! In gameplay that terms, that means characters inspired by classic western fantasy, challenging tactical battles, and

Danganronpa fans, take note: A new killing game is about to begin!

We're huge fans of the twisty storytelling and gruesome deaths of the Danganronpa series of visual novels, but there hasn't been a new mainline entry since 2017's Danganronpa V3. With that in mind, we're starting to look elsewhere to get our fix of kidnapped innocents placed into a dastardly game of death. Luckily, we don't have to wait much longer for a game that looks like it might just fill that void.

A decent game but kinda basic it's missing that something

Pros You won't be able to create a character. The game is choosing for you with name/image/attributes Graphics are kinda old school and neat If you die you can resurrect by either using gems or an AD There are some choices that have some impact like when you meet the elf that helps you (Irelle) kill the giant and later down the road you can choose to side either with elves or pioneers and your 'friend' is in there also plus Majet that helped you kill The spider woman quest You can marry her if you do it right too

Hello everyone.  Today I would like to introduce you to a title in which I think our decisions have a big impact.  This war is mine, forces us to make decisions in very difficult circumstances, being a civilian during the war.  Are you stealing an elderly couple for a few bandages, food or fuel?  Will you hurt others to survive?  How far will you go in the war to survive?  The answer to this question may have a bearing on your survival in the days to come.  The choices we have before us are often highly moral.

Post-apocalyptic survival Extreme survival game and environment grade where survival is for the fittest. However, it is not always about using force, you must also use intelligence to survive day to day, night to night of nocturnal predators and other survivors that stalk the immense map. This is where the story of Emberland begins, a place where a virus invades people's minds, transforming them into the living dead... it is unknown where it came from, but scientists find a mysterious rock and call it "Ember"

Star Trek meets Mass Effect in this choice-based adventure game - Star Trek: Resurgence Quick Review

PLAY IT OR SKIP IT? Play it if you’re a fan of Star Trek or choice-based games, but consider waiting for a patch. Star Trek: Resurgence has solid writing, fleshed-out characters, and high-impact decision-making but technical issues detracted my overall experience. The quality of its story helped make up for some of the gameplay’s shortcomings, but there were still times when it felt frustrating to play. At its best, the game reminded me of the first

Roto Force: A High-Energy Shooter with Fast-Paced Action and Retro Charm

"Roto Force" is like a high-energy rollercoaster wrapped in a top-down shooter package. If you've ever wanted a game to fry your brain in the best possible way while keeping you glued to your screen, the game is your jam. The premise? Simple. You're a tiny hero tasked with blasting through enemies across crazy, rotating levels. Each stage has unique themes, enemies, and hazards, so there's no room for boredom here. The gameplay revolves around you zooming in a circular arena, dodging bullets, and dishing out chaos. It's fast, chaotic, and oh-so-satisfying when you nail a level after a dozen tries.

This has to be the one! If you've never played a TWD game from telltale, do yourself a favour and play the whole series. One of the most heart wrenching, heart warming and beautiful stories I've ever played in a videogame. In this game, you not only choose the fate of other characters but also choose how you react or reply to someone. A simple reply may not feel like much, but some of those snowball and come back later to bite you.

World of Horror is the closest thing to a Junji Ito story in game form, and it's finally almost done

We're always looking for the perfect game for the Halloween season, and it doesn't get much more perfect than World of Horror. In the works for years now, World of Horror is like a love letter to everything about the horror genre—but with a special focus on the unsettling body horror of manga artist Junji Ito and the unspeakable cosmic horror of author H.P. Lovecraft. What's most amazing about World of Horror is what it accomplishes with so little, though. The visuals are extremely lo-fi—in fact, the game's black-and-white art was literally created using MS Paint! Despite those humble tools, though, solo developer Panstasz has created some memorable and truly disturbing imagery.
