Hi, I’m the solo dev of a small cat lane-strategy game called Claws of Power, and lately I’ve been playing around with a new frontliner: the ogre cat Nuba. In battle he does two things at once: he soaks damage on the frontline and still hits pretty hard. His normal swings have a chance to stun whatever he’s hitting, so fights around him always look a bit chaotic. And if an enemy’s HP drops low enough, he lets out an “awoo” and just bites them out of existence, healing himself in the process. That execute has a cooldown, but whenever it triggers it feels very satisfying. The GIFs I’m posting are from my latest test build. Heyyyyyy, guys. I’m working on my own tiny cat RTS called Claws of Power, and I just finished a new unit: the samurai cat Akagoro. Akagoro is a 7-dried-fish unit. Most of the time he just stands there in his straw hat looking lazy, but he’s meant to be the kind of character where you save up, drop him, and it feels really good. His first hit is special: he pauses for a brief charge, then suddenly flash-dashes forward and does a fast iai slash. That opening cut usually closes the gap and deletes one target in an instant. After that he goes into a more normal attack rhythm. The idea was to capture that “one clean killing stroke” samurai feeling. The first gif I recorded is a simple 1v1, the second one is Akagoro in an actual stage after you unlock him.

It is clearly rushed which is backed up by it's unoptimised gameplay that is clearly not suited for mobile. Hi, I’m Garlic Sprout, the solo dev behind Claws of Power. In my game, Bacon Jack is that tiny 1-cost melee cat everyone loves to spam. He’s cute, super cheap, and great for early swarms… but against fancy mid–late game units or big AoE, he usually just melts first and disappears. So I decided to give him his own exclusive item: the Bacon Jack Fusion Device. When you press it, all the little Bacon Jacks on the field fly toward a light point and fuse into Jack Hero. His HP and attack both scale with how many Jacks you sacrificed, so the more “fodder” you throw in, the more ridiculous he becomes. A big Jack Hero can both tank and hit hard – he finally doesn’t have to be bullied by Solo anymore. It also creates a fun choice: do you keep Bacon Jack as a throwaway frontline, or cash them all in at once for a single muscle hero? The GIF I’m posting shows the fusion in action and how Jack Hero fights once he’s on the field.
