It is up to the player to decide what kind of detective Brok will be in this grim world, brought to life with the game’s gorgeously illustrated 90’s cartoon aesthetic. But don’t let the vibrant colors fool you; the world Brok lives in is far from sunshine and rainbows.

SHOULD I PLAY PACIFIC DRIVE? Definitely play this game if you’re into paranormal settings, looting and crafting, or if you just like the idea of driving around in a car you have to build and maintain on your own. Pacific Drive has been the number one indie on my list since I saw the first trailer last year. It immediately drew me in with its beautiful hand-drawn animation, fully voiced dialogue, and snappy writing. The blended game elements fit together perfectly, making this a fun title with plenty of components to explore. Most importantly, I could play the first chapter entirely free of charge, though it’s totally worth the $7.99 investment for the full game.
