As an avid cat lover, I had been following this game since it was first announced. It looked amazing, the Kitty was fluffy and full of personality in every single one of their trailers, but as the release date approached, everything began to feel like a budget reduction version, cutting the style of the feline to be more smooth and polished. Playing a variety of games, particularly open world adventure games that involve traveling, meeting new characters, and having fun, is something I truly look forward to, which I assumed would be the premise here, but it turned out to be nothing more than a one-hour fetch quest that offered nothing of interest unless you're a toddler or an obsessed cat lover. Pesticide Not Required has everything I could ever want in a Vampire Survivors clone: smooth bullet heaven gameplay, over-the-top power-ups, frogs, farming mechanics, and even a pet capybara to help me care for my plants. I’ve only played the demo, but I’m already head over heels in love with Pesticide Not Required. Unless you totally hate roguelites—or frogs—this is a must play.

it’s been a wild ride since I started writing for TapTap. Since then, I was trapped in a major city-wide shutdown, moved back to the United States with a cat, started graduate school, and, MOST IMPORTANTLY, have reviewed over forty titles with TapTap. Admittedly, I never would’ve thought to play some of these games on my own. And some of these games have been gems I’ve kept on my phone and play regularly. One thing for sure is that I’ve gained a deeper perspective and respect for game developers and the tiny nuances they put into trying to make a great mobile game! A decade after its launch, The Sims 4 has brought an exciting new update to the game with its Lovestruck expansion. With the Lovestruck update, romance is front and center as The Sims 4 players can enjoy the new city of Ciudad Enamorada, have polyamorous relationships, and even enjoy the new Cupid's Corner in-game dating app. Although it has taken 10 years to get to this point, the Lovestruck expansion pack has been a fun new addition to the base game that makes relationship-building that much more exciting. There are a variety of great features included in the expansion, but the star is definitely the Cupid's Corner dating app. As The Sims 4's answer to real-life apps, like Tinder and Hinge, Cupid's Corner is complete with catfishes and perfect matches. However, the feature could actually be teasing what to expect in the franchise's next game, Project Rene.

PLAY IT OR SKIP IT? Play it, especially if you’re in the mood to get lost in a great story. I’d describe Fall of Porcupine as a cozy game, but there’s an underlying darkness to its narrative that gives its events a real sense of weight. You play as Finley, a small-town doctor who’s returning to work after an on-the-job injury. Finley clearly loves the town of Porcupine and its residents, but he has some concerns about St. Ursula’s, the hospital he works at. There’s a free demo that serves as a prologue to the main story, and I’d definitely recommend checking it out if you’re interested in the game.
