One of the issues with "powercreep" is that newer enemies are designed to scale with the newer, more powerful units and making earlier released units obsolete. However there are rare cases where powercreep made an earlier released unit better There is this interesting case in Arknights of an earlier unit named "Ceobe" who's special gimmick is taking a % of an enemy's physical defense and uses it to buff her own arts damage. This makes her particularly powerful against units with high amount of physical defense (arts damage ignores physical defense).

I have over 200 hours on Steam/TapTap, fell in love with Heartopia as soon as it came out and have logged on everyday with my boyfriend. We play this game together and sometimes with our friends, always having so much fun! However, things started to become distressing and no longer fun when the new banner came out "Forestbell Spell." You are supposedly guaranteed an "unobtained rare" after 25/30 pulls depending on the banners, this is not true. You can get a duplicate and it will then reset your "25/30 pulls until unobtained rare" and support will tell you this is how it is supposed to be.. but it isn't worded that way when you read the terms on the banner. It never specifies that a dupe rare will reset the timer and it is very misleading.. - Constant duplicates will dominate your pulls. People are frequently reporting getting the same item 3-5+ times in a row, making progress very slow and demoralizing. Myself and my boyfriend have gotten countless duplicates on the current banners. - There is no reliable guarantee or pity for full sets on standard banners like this one. This means you can spend heavily without ever completing the collection you want, without getting the specific item you want. You do get exchange tickets, but the rate that you get them is very little and you *cannot* exchange for the exact items you see on the banner, they will be alt colors or different items completely. - Completing even one full set often requires 200+ pulls, based on other players experiences. With low per-item rates (featured rares around 4% or less) and high duplicate odds, it's common to hit a pay wall. - Real-money spending doesn't guarantee results, completed sets or the item you want. Multiple players have shared that they have spent $200-$300+ (or equivalent) on passes/diamonds and still missing key pieces, ending up with mostly duplicates instead of desired treehouse furniture or outfits. My Closing Thoughts: Heartopia is a very charming game with cute aesthetics, but banners like Forestbell Spell show how the current gacha system undermines that coziness and the players trust.. Without better pity mechanics, more generous free currency or reduced duplicate rates, it risks alienating players who just want to enjoy decorating without feeling pressured to spend large amounts. I hope the devs address these concerns soon for Global players so everyone can access the beautiful items more fairly.. because I really do love and enjoy this game and it saddens me to see it take such a downward, money hungry turn..
