Gun & Dungeons

Gun & Dungeons is an action-RPG shooter that uses tricks (i.e., switches, moving lasers, etc.) to stage battles on an isometric, quarter-view map. It leans heavily on the run-and-gun, twin-stick shooters of yore—Total Carnage, Smash TV and Robotron. It’s nowhere near as entertaining (or as elegantly designed) as these classics, but what it does, it does well. So it seems I’m a nameless pixel lad with a rather large arsenal blasting through hordes of repetitive enemies in my hunt for loot—loot that I can then use to upgrade my weapons and equipment. My mission is to survive as long as possible so I can be whisked away to the next dungeon. This is child’s play at the outset, but gradually becomes more difficult, only to reach absurd levels. This, of course, is by design as a way to get me to start spending actual money on upgrades via the dreaded microtransactions.

The game is divided into story mode and survival mode. Survival mode requires additional data to be downloaded, but keeps telling me that it failed to load. Therefore, I had to choose to play the story mode. The game's graphics are low polygon art style, very cute. bgm sounds very relaxed. The main task is to collect more powerful weapons and skills to fight against a variety of alien creatures. What I'm not happy about is that there are often NPCs that look like death in the level, and it will provide some powerful skills for you to choose from. But no matter which one you choose, you have to watch the ads. Even if you don't choose any skill, you don't have any way to skip it directly. It's a waste of time.

Gun and Dungeons is an amazing cute RPG Shooter mobile game, which is a hybrid of guardian tales and lego. Lots of enemies to kill with varieties of powerups. Strategic positioning is the key to win this game. Try it out!
