An exploration and puzzle game where you must nourish yourself to evolve and progress through the depths of the ocean.
2D side-scrolling narrative adventure and puzzles with a bit of action. It will tell in a cruelty way the story of evolution from the depths of the ocean. The species compete with each other and adapt to survive. The player will be one more, having to make decisions, face dangers and discover the secrets that evolution hides.
Visual style
● Lighting takes center stage. Constant duality between light and darkness.
● Vivid colors scattered in a world of gray.
● The depths of the ocean are a mystery, Evolution will combine realism with a touch of fantasy.
● No interfaces. Complete and organic integration of all that the player needs to know.
Mechanics
● Your upgrades have a unique ability.
● Activate its different uses: Charge, electrocute, create nests... Your species will change stages progressively.
● Even its unique evolutionary ability (shining, opening the mouth and biting…)
● Genre: narrative adventure, puzzle, action, combat.
● Unique mechanic: Feeding system and upgrade configuration depending on what you eat. Unlike “Spore”, it is a more organic and integrated system, the fight for the food will be less chaotic and more strategic, and the upgrades are created by you, they are not loot from enemies.
● Basic player actions: Explore, configure upgrades, activate evolutionary or upgrade abilities, interact with the environment.
● Challenges for the player: Solve puzzles, get the scarce food, face enemies, flee from the strongest, defeat colossal bosses
Progression
● The levels/maps will be divided from the following mixed zones:
1) Exploration zone: relaxed moment where to search for food.
2) Puzzle: blocked path until it's solved.
3) Action: fight with other species or persecutions.
4) Development of the story.
● The game will be saved with the nests. Save settings and current position.
● Visual progression. From the depths of the ocean to the surface. There will be an
increased lighting, as well as changes in flora and fauna
