The game is expected to be released on PC in 2023, and will be launched on other platforms one after another. Paper Trail is a top-down puzzle-adventure game about leaving home set in a paper world. You must fold and tear your way through a diverse and populous paper world. As you progress, new gameplay opportunities emerge, enhanced by folding mechanics. Drag objects, glow and push boulders on the path you create by folding. Our protagonist, Paige, is doing well in school, and her goal is to be the first person in her village to be admitted to college. With mixed reactions from her family, she embarks on an epic journey, starting her first semester, mastering her unique ability to fold worlds along the way. The world itself borrows heavily from flat aesthetic styles -- such as prints and watercolors -- to further reinforce the theme of paper. Our characters utilize clean, monochromatic designs that look like they're collaged out of cutouts. Each page has a bold color scheme, and we wanted to play the game to feel like flipping through a book of richly patterned paper or textiles.
