Rhythm Doctor is a rhythm game in a world where defibrillating patients' hearts in sync with their heartbeats has healing properties. Slam your spacebar in perfect time on the 7th beat, and they might just come out okay. But beware - every patient has unique illnesses based on complex music theory: polyrhythms, hemiolas, irregular time signatures...if you don't know what they mean, don't worry. Rhythm Doctor is designed to make you learn music and rhythm theory without even realising it!

不知从何时起，游戏被称作为“第九艺术”，但事实上并不是所有的游戏都能担得起这个美名。
能够支撑起这个名字的游戏，得有其独有的特点，让人眼前一亮的体验感。
作为一名普通玩家，我个人认为“第九艺术”的魅力所在，就是能够给予游玩者强烈的共鸣感和较高的互动率，并且通过互动之中理解开发者的思想在游戏中的灌注和体现。
个人认为，节奏医生这一款游戏正是体现“第九艺术”的典范佳作。
医学主题、精致的像素风格、动听的音乐、到位的汉化、幽默真实还带有讽刺的台词和剧情，共同构筑起了这一个题材新颖的音乐节拍游戏。
把病人的心跳声和音乐节拍有机结合，并且通过花样百出的视觉干扰（对的，比起视觉提示，更多出现的会是视觉干扰）表现出吸烟（本作中妮可的病因）、咖啡（本作中科尔的病因）对人类的心脏产生的影响；主要表现在心律不齐和情绪起伏不定导致的心跳变化。
从医学角度上说有些许的不严谨，但对于游戏的表现而言，这无疑是表现“心跳”最为活灵活现的方式之一，突破了传统音乐游戏的界限，加以“拯救患者”的主题，给游玩者带来新体验的同时，也带有一部分的责任感所在。而在治疗过程中，通过不断解锁人物对话或关卡，玩家还可能发现一些隐藏的人物关系或是小故事，其中不乏一些令人感到温暖的片段，又或是令人忍俊不禁的小动画。
