For a strategy tactical turn based player this would be a great game. There's plenty of mechanics to mess around with. Auto playing your way in won't work for long, even day one progressing story would get difficult. I'm not that good with it either, hence I gave it 3 stars from a neutral point of view.
The Mecha comes in weight category, heavy light and medium, along with it a wide range of weaponry and fighting style, we can try equip everything but not every weapon work with all mecha.
Pilots have 6 professions 3 dps long (sniper), midrange and melee and 3 support healer (mechanic), tank, debuff (tactician) and everything gets mixed and matched (sorry about the poor explanation).
It gets to plenty of min-maxing and adjusting your resources because its 5 pilot team with mechs overlapping, try not to invest in all characters/mechs right when you start like an amateur (me) because, the resources like mech upgrades and pilots upgrades are energy based and possibly empty your energy capsules.
Pilots have 3 upgrades - level, skill tree and stat chips, each takes certain resources to upgrade and has its own dungeons/modes. For mecha there's 3-4, mecha quality (purple to orange) it's more of a gacha thing. Then there's parts level, weapon and maybe another chup/mod gated by energy.
During combat there is plenty to do and I don't think I'm experienced enough to comment on it. Most matches have 10-15 rounds, so you have to destroy/save/survive/collect map resources (chests) in 50 ish turns.
For a casual player and mecha enthusiasts it's a bit too much for me. Hardcore gacha and tactical players who are into collecting mecha may enjoy this a lot. Yes there are waifus but I don't think they get much animation in game so yeah. Feel free to check it out.
