Touhou Danmaku Kagura May Not Have An English Version Yet, But It Was Still Fun

Ahhh Touhou, probably the most famous doujin game franchise of all time. Now, it finally has its own official rhythm game for mobile devices with Touhou Danmaku Kagura. The game basically The player is basically going into a danmaku battle against an opponent... but instead of the usual Touhou danmaku shooter, we get a rhythm game!.

Sadly, the game does not have an English version yet. However, the tutorial makes it quite clear where you have to click in order to get things done. That being said, if you can't read Japanese, it might still cause some confusion while starting out. However, the system is fairly easy to understand, so the language barrier might just be overcome after a few hours of play.

The main part of the game is of course the rhythm game portion. I found it to be pretty standard, though the songs are wonderful. There are five difficulties for each song, and they are Easy, Normal, Hard, Extra and Lunatic. And much like many rhythm games, the difficulties determine the speed and timing for each beat or click you do. Unfortunately, after hours of gameplay, I could not find anything that stood out from other rhythm games, though I did have fun, which was the most important thing. The game does have a fairly unique elemental factor, as each song has an elemental attribute, and some cards actually perform better with these songs. But even with these, I could not find anything that makes the game stand out too much. However, things change once you get into an actual Danmaku battle against a boss.

Every time a player successfully times a rhythm, the boss gets damaged. And if players can damage the voice enough and actually beat her, this means that the song might end early. There's also an actual bullet hell shooter portion for the game, much like the original Touhou games as well.
TapTap
As usual, the game also has a resource gathering aspect. However, players can do this with expeditions. The resources can be used for a number of purposes, such as building areas, unlocking story events, and many more. Sadly, this feels pretty standard as well, and does not stand out.
TapTap
There's also a gacha system, where players try to roll for characters they want. Compared to most games, there are pretty modest chances to actually get an SSR character, around 3.6%. This is pretty high seeing games like Fate/Grand Order with a less than 1% chance to pull a 5-star character.
The Good:

The game is pretty fun, and the music is good. If you judge a rhythm game, you base it on the music. I also found boss battles to be a bit more unique, which would be a plus to me. This game also has a very decent gacha rate. As I have been saying, better rates, less salt, and more fun. This keeps fans satisfied and not want to throw their phones whenever they have their 268th consecutive bad pull.
The Bad:

The game just feels pretty standard, even if you disregard the language barrier. I am still hoping for an English release though.
Final Verdict:

The game is not bad at all, despite being a bit by the numbers. The language is no barrier, as I felt that the tutorial teaches you what to do quite well, even if you don't speak Japanese. In the end, I really enjoyed it, and is a must for any Touhou fan out there.

Is not actually a rhythm game. You just have to make the character face to where the enemies are coming, it doesn't matter how far away they are from the hit zone. You don't tap on them to the rhythm of the song. There's a couple of bugs as well; 1. Game freezes in black screen after getting a game over. 2. Briefly when starting the game, you can see the samurai's animation base thing before the game loads completely.

Best rhythm game for mobile players!
When I say it's best I mean it! I love music and I was finding for rhythm game for years and I went across magic tiles, beat star, arcana and many rhythm games and they were all decent but not what I wanted because they were all dull and full of Advertisements recently I came across Hatsune miku: Colourful world and damn it was love at first sight lol. Best game, gives vibes of osu!, anime, Japanese songs and being one of the biggest anime addict I loved many songs in game. They were all like anime. But I found out most of the songs were made by app developers itself and that was a big shock for me! Hats of to all singers/lyrics writers u are the main reason for success of this game! Its interface is similar to osu! which I loved and yea this game is a banger it will rule tablet/mobile rhythm games soon!.

This game is perfect to level up your rhythm experience because it has interesting mechanics that I have not seen before (and possibly you, too). The game is about Japanese artists and songs, arts, and characters. Also, the game has its own story that makes the game seem more interesting and enjoyable.
