How do you interact with the characters? 🤔

I can't figure out how to interact with the characters and it won't let me access the levels 😥 it says to go to the left and nothing! Can someone help me.. could it be a bug? I can't explain it.. the movement cursor is a little triangle.. on the right there are no action icons or character interaction icons. HELP ME 😭
