Story used to be genuinely good but they dropped the ball hard because they chased the spectacle and raised stakes, things that make people talk about it but when you get down to it, none of the stakes meant anything and they had to retcon things just for the spectacle to pay off. plus ever since Lesangle took over, it's definitely gotten worse. we should have characters like Sun Wukong, Abe no Seimei by now in 2025 but they would rather give the anniversary spots to Collab characters, or characters that placed 4th in the most wanted polls instead of top 3 because the top 3 where men and the 4th was a chick. they've also just refused to innovate or make the game play loop rewarding - play by tapping and NP and it's drags on forever especially for events that go one for weeks, get the best characters to loop in 3 turns with and the game becomes just as boring, but also repetitive.
