Well, I would say, at first glance it's a good game. I love the game's truly unique artistic direction, the unique character designs (I'll come back to this topic anyway), numerous activities to do in the game, engaging gameplay... And really good animation. Zzz would have all the cards in hand to be top tier, only if the developers would get out of their comfort zone. To begin with, although the story expands over time, (and I've been patient) it still remains uninviting. There are some nice moments, such as the character stories, but nothing that makes me want to spend hours on it.
Then, the diversity of the environments. I appreciate, as previously said, the decision of the artistic direction, but even by changing areas, I have the impression that they are recycling. The same goes for the female character designs (not as if there were enough male characters to compare). The last two characters, Alice and Yuzuha are adorable, and I love them. But, the two new S characters announced (female, obviously) have designs that are starting to recycle, and are not very engaging (I find that Lucia is really cute despite everything, but the other octopus... Well, we know why they created this design)
This brings me to one last point (I won't go any further because it's starting to get long), the characters. There has always been fan service in this game, and personally it has never been a problem for me, because the characters all had distinct personalities that made them come alive. Now, some are starting to seem bland (let's talk about Vivian... I love her design but she makes me so uncomfortable). And, to continue on this theme, and the reason why I'm writing this review today, is also the male characters. They have so much potential, but, in favor of female characters (don't get me wrong, I love female characters) who sometimes have no place being there, are sabotaged. The example of Kamano. His design didn't make you think of an S rank, I grant you, and I wasn't expecting him to be one. But, the players appreciated him, he was involved in the story. If the devs were actually listening to the players, there would probably be more male S-rank characters and A-rank characters (which aren't always male, obviously)
