Created by Netmarble back in the early 2010s, Seven Knights has accompanied almost everyone through their teens. Don’t be surprised if the majority of the player base for the Seven Knights 2 consists of fully-grown adults.
Though I may not have been one of them, I’m still very much looking forward to giving the much-awaited sequel a whirl.
Knowing that the game would be launching in less than a day, I could hardly contain myself!🤩 Before I knew it, I found myself snuggling into my thick and warm dressing gown in the lounge as I launched the game on my phone.
Blimey, I was first greeted by a Final-Fantasy-esque role-playing game (RPG) with a South Korean twist.
Anyway, it’s definitely a sight for sore eyes, especially in my case (Well, I mean, what’s there not to love about FF?).
Jumping right into the world of wonder and chaos, I gradually caught on to something pretty special that isn’t seen in any other mobile RPG. It would seem that the developer, Netmarble, has incorporated a unique game mechanic that allows you to swap between your team members at any time. How dope does that sound?
Running through the locations in sequence, I have witnessed plenty of mirthful and well-animated cutscenes flowing fluidly into each combat and back, with only some side gigs to pull you off the main path. Fortunately, these environments are teeming with loads of combat and a great deal of banter that puts a smile on my face. In turn, it offers me a form of enthralment straight out of the gate.
As soon as I’m drawn into battle, it quickly dawns on me that the combat system in Seven Knights 2 appears vaguely familiar as it is reminiscent of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order. With that, I couldn’t help but recall the recent summer holidays that I’ve spent sitting on my gaming chair for several hours straight, attempting to complete Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3. Since Seven Knights 2 also has the same simplicity, I should probably warn you that you’ll definitely be spamming that attack button... a lot in between abilities.
As you know, gacha games are aplenty in the market, for example, Doula Continent: Soul Master Duel and Counter: Side. However, none of them is quite like Seven Knights 2. Despite the sheer number of characters available, Netmarble has designed each hero in such a way that they all have varying rarity and classes—far more than you (or even yours truly) will actually need to play its entire campaign. Good Lords, don't even get me started on weapons and pets too!
Like any gacha game, the odds are indeed against it.
Brushing aside the notices for a gazillion number of packages (that smack you right in the face after you log into the game), Seven Knights 2 tempts you into spending real money to summon by limiting the number of free in-game currency (Ruby) that you’ll receive.
Though fun may come from just unlocking all of these characters and trying them out, Seven Knights 2 does seem to be a rather expensive game to invest in (Now, you can’t say you weren’t warned!).
In any case, Seven Knights 2—Yay or nay?

Otherwise, be sure to pray to Lady Luck and join other fellow knights as they walk into a new era here.
