Square Enix just showed why they are one of the best companies when it comes to RPGs. This is their own Dragon Quest Puzzle RPG, and it's actually quite good.
Gameplay-wise, it actually has the same mechanics as many puzzle games, as well as puzzle RPGs. Players face off against an opponent and beat them by solving a puzzle. The puzzle is a typical match 3 puzzle and matching four or more lets players perform special attacks, which means more damage on enemies. The RPG element is also typical, but done so well. There is still room for improvement, but so far, it's a very fun puzzle game that I actually played for hours.
