8 Years of Battle Royale: Why Garena Free Fire is more than just a game?

As a person who has been dedicated to the Battle Royale genre for more than eight years, I can confidently say that Garena Free Fire is not just a game, but it is also cultural phenomenon in mobile gaming for Gen Z, Gen Alpha or even the 9X Generation. As a player with a maximum credit score and achieving a Master or Heroic ranks for several seasons in a row, I would like to show you how and why this game has attracted such a massive number of global players, especially in the Southeast Asian region such as Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia.
The main difference between Free Fire and contemporary hit games like PUBG and Call of Duty: Mobile is that the character and pet systems have their own skills. Beyond standard gunplay, players can freely combine skills to create their unique combos. For example, Dimitri works with pet Zasil to optimize the squad's sustain and self-revival capabilities in team fights, or K works with pet Waggor for solo-rank matches. It is this vast transformation that creates diverse strategies that keep the game fresh. Besides diverse playsets such as Battle Royale and Clash Squad, the game satisfies aesthetic needs through costumes combined with anime adaptations such as One Piece or Demon Slayer. The biggest drawback, however, is the introduction of stat-boosting skins and a Pay-to-Win feeling, which can cause an unbalanced-level matches. Based on my years of experience, I have pretty good personal skills, but to get up to the level of Master, I would spend a lot of money on the edge of legendary weapons. In other "hard shot" engagements, the assistance of the AK47-Chaos Universe's armor penetration or the firing rate of the MP40-Lightning Strike was critical to my advantage in an engagement.
Although there is still a debate about equity between skill and finance, it is undeniable that Free Fire is a "masterpiece" of entertainment and community connection. From my point of view, I give this game 9/10. This is certainly a Must-try game for anyone who loves the thrill and excitement of Battle Royale.
