As a part of the Firefly Squad, Lost Light tasks you with the mission of exploring a brutal exclusion zone, where you’ll be bringing light to whatever mysterious events created this warzone.
Story (★★★★☆)
✔️ Most of the story is drip-fed through missions
Gameplay (★★★★☆)
✔️ A mashup of game elements (Post-apocalyptic survival, battle royale, action, looting and shooting game mechanics)
✔️ Close resemblance to PUBG, Rainbow Six Siege clone, The Division’s Dark Zone and Escape from Tarkov
✔️ Cross-platform
✔️ Weapon modification and character customisation
✔️ Lost Light has a crafting system
✔️ You can either play against people or AI
✔️ You can team up with ppl in this game (unlike other similar games)
✔️ You are given the option to execute or heal your enemies (much like CoD: Warzone)
✔️ No ads
❌ No FPP mode available
❌ If only more maps are available :(
Graphics (★★★☆☆)
✔️ Neat-looking realistic game art style
❌ UI interface may feel a little clunky at times
Audio (★★★☆☆)
✔️ Decent soundscape
❌ Occasional minor audio issue
Verdict (★★★★★★★☆☆☆)
Lost Light does appear to be an intriguing survival-action game that proves to be a good choice to sink hours into. As good as the game is, it still has some flaws and can be rather challenging for its own good.
Even so, the game leaves you with a feeling of playing a well-polished game. If you happen to be into a whole lot of survival-shooters with more complex mechanics, this is definitely something worth investing hours into! What’s more, the addictive gameplay experience is more than sufficient to make up for its lack of a captivating narrative.
