Genshin Impact released its 2.5 update today and brought us tons of new content, including a 5-star character, the “Astute Amusement” Yae Miko (Electro) and the “Three Realms Gateway Offering” event.

The new version is called “When the Sakura Bloom”. Since Yae Miko is the Lady Guuji of the Grand Narukami Shrine, the title thus presents us with the scene of a Japanese-style witch lingering under the cherry blossoms. Interestingly, her name Miko has the same meaning as the word “witch” in Japanese.
The promotional video shows her Elemental Skill “Yakan Evocation: Sesshou Sakura” and Elemental Burst “Great Secret Art: Tenko Kenshin”. Yae Miko appears to be trapped by enemies in the beginning, however, her skills reverse the situation with each fight and it turns out that the enemies are the ones who get fooled, revealing the intelligence and cunning characteristic hidden under her beautiful smile.

The downloads for Genshin Impact ranked 2nd on Japanese servers and 8th on both the US/Canada and Europe servers on the PlayStation Store in the first month of the year.
