Graphics (★★★★☆)

✔️ Gorgeous Japanese anime-ish art style

Story (★★★☆☆)

✔️ Based on the grimm fairy tales

✔️ Narrative takes a heavy role in the game

✔️ Whitewashes the actual grimm fairy tales (for younger audience)

❌ Translations are rough around the edges

❌ Narrative can be flat at times

Gameplay (★★★☆☆)

✔️ Idle RPG

✔️ Close reminder to Aurora 7 and AFK Arena

✔️ Gacha system with pity system

✔️ Generous with rewards and gacha rates

✔️ Loads of things to do (Such as dungeon-style side quests, timed missions and guild dungeons)

✔️ You can reclaim the used resources from the upgraded characters when you no longer want to use them

❌ Combats are fully automated

❌ Dupes system is a challenge (Difficult to get duplicates of the characters you want)

❌ No skip button

❌ Once you reach lvl 100, the game pretty much comes to a standstill (if you f2p)

Audio (★★★☆☆)

✔️ Decent soundscape

Verdict (★★★★★★☆☆☆☆)

Tales of Grimm has been a joy to experience in short bursts, but it still can’t seem to scratch the itch that I’d love it to. However, the developers’ generosity is definitely a breath of fresh air but doesn’t go far enough. Even so, it is something that is pretty easy to pick up.

So, definitely pick this up and give it a try to see what you think about it, especially if you’re into the idle RPG genre.
