The game has a sort of Bullet hell kind of gameplay, but not a ton of bullets. It plays like one as players control a magical girl as she runs around, gathers treasures, casts her spells upon enemies, and of course, trying to dodge the,. It's already game over once her health reaches zero.
Gameplay is pretty standard for Bullet Hell types of games, but unlike many of the titles in this genre, this one seems a bit conservative on the projectiles. Though running around and avoiding enemies is still a huge part of the game.
Unlike most Bullet Hell Games, Magical Girl Story also looks a whole lot better, with some nice graphics and OK music.
Overall, it's a fun game. Dodging hordes upon hordes of enemies is honestly really fun and exciting. I just wish they could increase the amounts of projectiles she could fire to help deal with those hordes much easier.
