When the same mate of mine recommended yet another game, nothing could have prepared me for what I'd soon be encountering.
Just in case you've missed it, Clone2048 is a tower-defending game developed by a Chinese developer, Ostrich Studio. There, you've gotta brace yourself, for you will be braving through endless waves of mutants, which are gradually on their way to becoming more indestructible and absurd evolutionary monstrosities.
Oh, did I mention that you'll be controlling your very own army of clones? It all starts simple enough with a single tap on the screen (I mean, after you begin merging them, of course).
At the outset, all you possess is a single type of clone, for which stands between you and the entire horde of monsters. The first time I matched three Rifles, I was immediately rewarded with a more advanced one. However, the more Rifles you combine—done by matching 3 or more of them together, obviously—the quicker I'd be able to turn the tides.
Before I know it, I'd be slaughtering all the grotesques that are seen gracing my screen with their presence (that's if the difficulty doesn't get to me first).
Though what sort of mutant will make its presence is beyond anyone's control. Wouldn't that just keep you on your toes? So, match more clones, vanquish more monstrosities, rinse, repeat, ad nauseam. But, I'm pretty sure you'll never grow bored of it.
The genius behind this game does not lie in its mechanics, which includes matching 3 or more clones together with a finger or setting up traps with a tap of your finger to wear down the enemy forces. No, the addictiveness engenders from the moments when you have no clue what you'll be facing next, IMO.
Despite all the addictions the game may lure you into, what I find most exasperating in Clone2048 is its imbalanced difficulty. Sure, it may initially be an easy game to pick up, but the game can really pack a hefty punch!
As riling as that sounds, just be prepared to hit replay... a lot.
So, if you think you have what it takes to massacre all the monstrosities, be sure to suit up and join me here for a wild ride!
