The roar of the engine, the wondrous torque of the cars, the vibrations of the controller—there's nothing quite like spending some quality time working on the old caravan with my pops.

Not only have I picked up on his love for cars, but also the need for speed. With that, there's nothing I wouldn't give for a solid bike to get the adrenaline pumping and my console hands clammy.

Since I'm out testing the old wagon with my pops, there won't be any decent gaming desktops or consoles lying around. For the lack of a better option, I began scrolling through my massive games backlog on my phone and settled on a game that will perhaps satisfy my need for speed—Ace Racer.

Under the tutelage of your trusty AI, Shirley, you will embark on the wildest ride of your life. Boy, can i feel the excitement bumping through my veins!

I'm not sure about you, but I'm not exactly one for racing games. Hence, I found myself facing a steep learning curve when it comes to familiarising myself with the controls (Trust me, it'll get better in time). Even so, that doesn't stop me from going wild and performing a display of pro-racing tricks that leaves me victorious (while cackling maniacally, of course).

As fun as that sounds, just be prepared to hit replay... a lot.

Although each stage may last for around a couple of minutes, it dawned on me that it may take a while to nail that perfect ranking, but it's well worth it when you actually pull one off. What's more, nothing beats leaving my opponents in the dust, IMO.

Sure, it may not be crucial for anyone to know the difference between suspension and shock absorbers to feel the need for speed. So, let's take the handbrake off and open the throttle on Ace Racer right here!
