One of the most common misconceptions right now is that Genshin Impact is not only significantly better than Blue Protocol, but that Genshin Impact's success is going to not only limit, but also inhibit the success of the upcoming MMO.
I'm taking a few minutes here, today, to showcase the contrasting differences between the two games and to address why I think Genshin Impact will have no effect on Blue Protocol.
I honestly don't think that Genshin Impact will have ANY effect on Blue Protocol whatsoever. It will not in any way hinder Blue Protocol's growth, nor will it inhibit the game or its growth.
Blue Protocol is going to launch to the same fanfare regardless of how populated and successful Genshin Impact is next year.
Will Genshin Impact's heavy use of its predatory Gacha system have an effect on Blue Protocol? No, not at all. Blue Protocol will not have any type of Gacha system in place. They've never wanted to have one and they have no plans of integrating one going into the future.
This is for the most part a mobile feature that runs quite rampant in the mobile genre. One that I hope never makes it into mainstream MMO or console gaming.
Nevertheless, I'm excited for Blue Protocol. They confirmed the game will have a 2021 release in Japan with an international release coming not too long after. You should check out my dedicated Blue Protocol video for all the info on its release and what we can expect going into 2021!

About Blue Protocol:
Blue Protocol is a AAA funded Anime MMORPG created by none other than one of our favorite JRPG developers - Bandai Namco. They're the people behind Code Vein, the Tales of games including the upcoming Tales of Arise, God Eater 3, Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth, and they're just the recent games. So they've been in this industry for a while. With Blue Protocol, however, they're kind of treading in new waters as they don't traditionally do MMOs. But it's always good to step out of your comfort zone and try new things. Blue Protocol is what a lot of us were thinking Genshin Impact would be - a vibrant, open full-fledged MMORPG as confirmed by Bandai Namco themselves. The goal of the game? Recreate something right out of an Anime movie and redefine the MMORPG genre with a high quality AAA title, something we haven't had in years. There have been various trailers released thus far and from what we've seen, the game is looking to truly shake up the Anime MMO genre. It could potentially go down as one of the best MMOs of the last decade.

#MyGotY2022 Genshin Impact
Genshin Impact is easily one of the most improved games in 2022, and added more than another game's worth of content over the course of the year.
The fact that it runs and has cross-play for an expansive, travel-as-far-as-the-eye-can-see open world action game on mobile, PC and console is still an unmatched technical marvel, and its easy to tell the devs put back into developing the game one of the largest slices of thier income of developers on the market.

If Protocol was released in Mobile and earlier after it was revealed in 2019? Genshin is just another ordinary gacha, waifu/husbando collection game. 😂

No matter how much we hate Genshin, I still think it will be more popular than Blue Protocol simply because it’s also on mobile and PlayStation. If blue protocol can come to both mobile and console, I think it will be, at the very least, just as popular as Genshin.
