Brawlhalla : First Impressions

Some presentation niggles aside, Brawlhalla is an entertaining fighter with fun, punchy combat that just about manages to capture that “one more match” feeling. While it isn’t quite as tightly designed as the seminal Super Smash Bros., the large roster, a wide range of modes, and a reasonable level of depth help it achieve a similar balance of accessibility and challenge - you can play as casually or as competitively as you like. With pay-to-win nowhere to be seen and exceedingly good online play, this is one free-to-play title that’s well worth a try.

[b][i] Brawlhalla[/i][/b] is a side-scrolling fighting game that was originally released on Steam. Its mobile version chooses cute cartoon graphics to present.  The game has a large number of characters for players to choose from. What’s more, there will be a large number of optional weapons that drop randomly during the battle scenes, each of which will have its own different fighting style. And your only goal in the game is to shoot down all the enemy on the field, ALL OF THEM!

Though I’ve spent most of my life playing multiplayer titles like League of Legends, Fortnite, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, fighting games have never really been my thing. It was only when I played MultiVersus in August that I finally took a cautious but enthusiastic step toward the genre. But after that first taste, I couldn’t help but want more. That’s what led me to play Brawlhalla, a free-to-play cross-platform fighting game that I’ve spent the last week with.
