*Writing new Review after playing for about ~3 week and taking a break from it (haven't played since first week of April).
Game:
T3 Arena is a simple third person hero shooter. Multiple Game modes from tdm, payload race, control, crystal assault, and free for all. However, most of them are behind trophies locks, as you need to be at ~500 total trophies to play all modes. Similarly so are some characters, such as Ruby, and Kazama. Maps and some game modes rotate every few hours.
XD Entertainment seems to follow the same formula from their other game Flash Party. Such as having the same character progression, trophy system, box system to obtain necessary items/abilities/characters, and in-app purchases. No criticism here as this is a proven design, from Brawl Stars, that has clearly worked and XD Entertainment wants to emulate that same success here.
Playing the game:
Early on you will be given a free character, that will help you progress and unlock more as you play the game. You can only play TDM in the beginning. You will receive matchmaking times of 5 seconds, but beware most of those early lobbies have bots.
Now in order to play with real people you need play with each character multiple times, in bot lobbies, until you reach ~44 trophies with each. That is when you finally start seeing real people.
☆Indications of a real people lobbies
-Matchmaking: You have an estimated time of ~21 seconds. This could have changed since I played, but for 3 weeks straight the majority of lobbies I was in that take less than 16 seconds are bot lobbies.
-Unique names: you will learn the majority of bot names by playing the first 8 tdm games with each character.
-Your portrait is listed second or third from the right: This indicates that you have real teammate(s).
-Specific Characters/rewards: Seeing a Ruby, Skadi with skin, Kazama, Johnny Jet, Ossas. The people that use them are real.
-In game loading: the loading wheel before match starts spins more than 2 times.
Game Balance:
Matchmaking is all over the place, there have been times when the real lobbies have players with 200+ trophies(character specific) teamed up with people that have 40. Some characters just seem so good while others you can't play. For instance Jabali being the superior tank choice compared to Victor.
Conclusion:
A solid third person hero shooter that unfortunately requires a prerequisite play time in order to play the complete game.
