On August 31, NetEase announced its acquisition of Quantic Dream, a French studio known for the adventure game Detroit: Become Human. Quantic Dream maintained a partnership with NetEase since 2019, according to its blog post. And after the acquisition, it will become NetEase's first European studio and will operate independently.

The information shows that NetEase has become a new foreign corporate entity Star Painters was founded in 2018 and is headquartered in Wuhan, China. Star Painters' main business includes developing AR/VR educational games and game art production. As of now, the studio has more than 300 employees.
