[Development] Character Design - Esther Freyja

"People are always searching for those who are more unfortunate than themselves to prove that they are not the unluckiest ones".

A long time ago, a pale girl was left in the deepest area of Helheim. She cried all day due to the fear of being devoured by the dark and distant realm.

After that, Hodr, the lone God of Darkness, picked her up while harvesting the dead and raised the only life in the kingdom of death. Hodr gave the girl her first name Freyja.

Freyja gradually grew up in the Underworld and the God of Darkness taught her to communicate with the dead. The extreme environment in the Underworld tempered her weak body. The memory of the day she was abandoned might be blurry but she still recalled it from time to time. Before she could remember things, it seemed like she was trapped in a sealed box and thrown into the dark abyss from a place full of light by someone. They might be her parents or just kidnappers. The lucky Freyja could not remember it no matter how hard she tried.

When Freyja grew up into an adult, the God of Darkness offered her to Valhalla with no hesitation just to prepare for the arrival of Ragnarok.

She was reborn as a Valkyrie here, receiving a new identity and power. However, God of Darkness removed her name and memory of the Underworld.

"Your new name is Esther. Cheer for it. You'll become the most honorable member of Valhalla", Alvitr said. She was the leader of Valhalla and she accepted the weak and frightened girl from God of Darkness. However, she could see the white glow released by the girl.   

Last Valkyrie

Valhalla had 12 Valkyrie. Their mission was to convert human heroes into hero spirits for the God of Thrones to prepare for the incoming Ragnarok.

However, Loki the Evil learned about Valhalla's plan and secretly lured the Valkyries into traps, resulting in the gradual collapse of the 12 Valkyries. After learning about the truth of their past life from Loki, most of the Valhalla warriors left. Only a few of them decided to stay. Alvitr, the first Valkyrie, assassinated numerous warriors just to complete her mission. In the end, she cut off her head and offered herself to Valhalla.

After witnessing everything, Esther stood on top of Valhalla's giant god statue. Esther once lost her past and then she lost everything. Although she had nowhere to go, she became the last Valkyrie to maintain Valhalla's honor.’
