Hello again! I am Zed, leader of the Project EVO Dev Team.
First of all, I want to thank everyone for continuing to share great suggestions in the community. In our last blog on UE5, we noticed that many of you had questions about open beta models. Right now we are still working on various ways to optimize performance, and we’ll be informing you of the minimum configurations to participate in the beta as soon as the first announcement is sent out.
At the same time, I have seen the calls by many players for us to properly address cheating tools in the game. This is something I strongly agree with, as many great shooting games eventually fail because of the proliferation of cheating. Personally speaking, I myself and my team abhor players and developers who use cheating tools.
In light of this, we started carrying out extensive research on anti-cheat techniques from the very beginning of development, which we will gradually integrate into the game. Aside from the game design, this was our main concern throughout the development process.
We feel confident that players will be able to see our zero-tolerance mindset towards cheating tools for themselves once we officially launch. Next, I want to share a little about the anti-cheat measures we are taking.
1- Firstly, our development team features has a collective wealth of experience in anti-cheat techniques in shooting games, and we also have plans to bring in a professional anti-cheat team to bolster our anti-cheat capabilities before launching.
2 In terms of the architecture of the game, I mentioned this in my previous blog about UE5. The reason we use UE5 for EVO development is so that we can use Unreal Engine’s dedicated server to obtain terrain and collision data, which provides an advantage in combating wall hacks, fly hacks, speed hacks, and monster spawning hacks.
3- Before the game is officially launched, we will perform high-intensity simulations to prevent the use of aimbots and piercing vision cheats. We are designing strategies to counter these tools for the current range of FPS and survival games on the market and will apply them in our programming. At the same time, Report buttons for cheating can be easily found in the game, and we will ensure that we react quickly to new cheating techniques and create new strategies to counter them. In addition, we find that emulators also have a high incidence of cheating tools, so we will also enforce a ban on emulators and their users.
4- We will also be adding an easy-to-use feedback channel in the community to report cheating players and are considering whether to invite players who are active in the community to join our anti-cheat review team to help us review complaints and effectively crack down on cheating tools.
5- Finally, we have a zero-tolerance attitude towards any players that use cheating techniques and use a one-strike policy, after which users are banned, including their IP and device, so that they will never set foot in Emberland again, ever.
what is the minimum spec for the game?
