You get so much freedom and house, character and pet customisation and the few restrictions that exists (like focus) can be surpassed late game by eating high-level food, and energy usage can be saved by running totems in teams rather than activating them yourself or gathering in a group. The game is extremely free to play friendly and the tutorial is extensive.
