Greetings Soul Knighters!✨
From May 16th to June 5th, we conducted an iOS test of the basic gameplay for Soul Knight Prequel. In this test, we focused on players' gaming experience in the early game stage and narrowed down the testing range. The follow-up gameplay was not involved.
The game testers are mainly from English-speaking regions and Southeast Asia. In total, we've collected around 2,000 surveys from 9,000 testers. Thank you guys for the love!
What parts of the game were open in the test?
The main plot; 4 Classes, 15 dungeons; some Boss cards, Daily Quest, Medallion Quest, etc.
Issues found and solutions
1. Limited gameplay
Most players can complete the levels very soon and some players find the gameplay competitive.
What to do
For this test version, we only opened a small part of the game. We will make sure the game has much more to experience with more complex levels and game design. Such as Loop Travel and Boss Rush Mode in Soul Knight.
2. Rushed game plot
Some players are not satisfied with the game plot. Before they get familiar with the plot, they've already completed the levels.
What to do
We will keep adding various storylines of different characters to the game to perfect the game plot and worldview. Also, we will keep polishing the cutscenes and plot details to optimize our game as much as possible.
3. Unclear guides
Some players were not familiar with the gameplay even after completing all the levels. Besides the language barrier, the introduction and guide were unclear or missing.
What to do
We aim to provide players with a more involving and engaging way to experience the game in the beginning. And we will keep testing and adjusting to achieve the optimal effect.
Follow-up work plans
1. To start the Android test ASAP. We will be working on improving the account login system and the access to some support components required for Android testing. There may be several tests of varying degrees during this period, as well as many other kinds of issues to overcome.
2. Localization. We will start the localization from English and Chinese to other languages.
3. Class optimization. We've received many insightful suggestions on the Class about combat control and special features. We will keep optimizing each Class with a balanced system and better game control.
4. Multiplayer mode (possibly). The multiplayer mode is a very complicated function requiring much more time and effort. We would need to go through many rounds of tests and optimizations before it can finally be in the game.
5. Some other bugs to be fixed.
