Kuukiyomi, or 空気読み, is a Japanese slang, which means "read the air", if you translate it literally. In English, it means something like "read the situation".
The game Kuukiyomi is about how to act in different scenarios. For example: Santa Claus is bringing presents but you are awake, what should you do?
Let's fall asleep.
Before playing Kuukiyomi, I was quite curious how the localization of the game is done. Because this game is basically about culture, Japanese culture, to be specific, and it is pretty hard to translate those social norms.
It turns out that it is indeed difficult. I feel confused playing this game from time to time.
Despite the lost in translation and the annoying ads, Kuukiyomi is still an entertaining game. Play if you love quirky little puzzle games, such as Hidden my game by mom or Crazy Freekick.

The rule for kuukiyomi (or literally 'read the air' in Japanese) is actually pretty simple - just do whatever you feel most appropriate or considerate in a couple of different situations, and you will get a score by the end of each test. I think the game itself is not meant to be localized because you cannot localize the Japanese's personalities. They could do more about the titles though.
