Legends of Runeterra Review

My overall Score 6/10
A fun card game with lots of different game modes that keeps the gameplay fresh. Amazing customization from your card backs to your board. Very F2P friendly with 95 percent of monetization based on cosmetics, but you do have to option to spend money to get random hero cards as well. Not much different than other card games. Has the same basic mechanics that most card games have.
Skill and creativity conquer all in Legends of Runeterra, a strategy card game featuring iconic champions and allies from the League of Legends universe.
In this strategy card game, skill defines your success—not luck. Mix and match iconic champions, allies, and regions of Runeterra to unlock unique card synergies and outplay your opponent.
Alternating gameplay means you can always react and counter, but so can your opponent. Choose from dozens of champion cards to include in your deck, each with a different mechanic inspired by their original League of Legends abilities.
Champions enter the battle as powerful cards, and if you play smart, they level up to become even more epic. Level your champions multiple times in-game, and earn Champion Mastery crests the more you play.
Explore how different champions and regions work together to give you unique advantages against your opponents. Combine, adapt, and experiment with frequent new releases in an always-evolving meta.
Once a week, you’ll also unlock chests from the Vault. These chests level up the more you play, increasing the rarity of cards inside from common all the way up to champion. They can also contain wildcards, which can be turned into any card you want—no guessing required.
CLIMB THE RANKS At the end of every season, 1024 qualifying Ranked players on each of LoR’s four regional shards (Americas, Asia, Europe, and Southeast Asia) will be able to compete for pride, glory, and a cash prize in the seasonal tournament.
But Ranked play isn’t the only way to qualify—you can also run the Last Chance Gauntlet. Gauntlets are limited-time competitive modes with unique rules to play around and exclusive rewards to unlock.

The Peak of Card Game Excellence - Legends of Runeterra Review
Legends of Runeterra is the best digital card game I’ve ever played. I say that boldly and confidently as someone who’s spent over five years dabbling in Hearthstone, and most of my life before that playing classic physical card games like Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokémon, and Vanguard. After spending so much time and money on Hearthstone in particular, it pains me to admit that Riot Games has created a better digital card game than Blizzard. But even I know when to concede a match that’s already been lost.
