Overall: On a platform like mobile, where 98% of all racing games are cheapely made cash grabs, this definitely feels like a step up and one to try for once.
Detaied review: Allright, I'll admit that I enjoyed this one more than I thought I would. But, its not fully fleshed out like RR3 or NFS:NL. And this game has a lot to improve.
The graphics are amazing. No seriously, for a game like this, its incredible. The screenshots on the download page are correct. They might be a bit too good for what the actual graphics are, but they're really close. Same goes for the maps. Very detailed and makes racing on them very enjoyable. But, they're too short and have only one lap. So that's disappointing. Plus, the actual races are also pretty boring. Im talking about street racing, as that's the one I mainly play. You dont even have to finish first. You just have to finish before a specific opponent, which is usually really easy to beat.
The first surprise this game gave me was the starter car selection. At first I thought I was gonna have to choose a "not so exciting" looking car just like in most other racing games. But nope. I got to choose 1 from 3: Lexus RC F, Mazda RX7 and Mazda MX 5 RF. As a Fast and Furious fan, I obviously went with the RX7. Satisfied. The cars are not licensed, but they're designed really well. Enough to know which irl car they're trying to be. In terms of customization, I only care about Spoilers and main body colours here. But I do wish that vinyls will be added in the future.
Now, the way to get cars by coins and Blueprint seems to be broken. Specially the Blueprint system. Because you barely get any packs as rewards by just playing the game. Even if you do, you still have higher chances to get upgrade items in them. And I dont think you can get more that 1 Blueprint for a car in a single pack. As for coins, it seems like you have to spend a lot on upgrades, otherwise the races will be really hard. Plus, the car prices are sky high. So yeah, that only leaves beating bosses as your main way to unlock cars. But then, can you get all cars by beating bosses? Highly doubt that. So we definitely need more packs as rewards in the game.
As for controls, they're, well......decent. I really enjoy taking the corners by drifting. There's a satisfaction to that. But why are all the cars so slippery? So slippery that you can literally take corners easily without drifting. Only problem being, it'll slow you down. Still though, love drifting around the corners here.
Why do you guys have a Save and Load progress option in the menus? They sure dont do anything. I expected to be able to transfer progress from one device to another, but that's not being possible. Even after connecting to Google Play Games. So devs, please look on that.
You dont get the thrill that you expect from a racing game. No matter how high end or upgraded you car is, they still feel pretty slow. And I was barely feeling any difference after upgrading a car. The only reason I even do it is so that the difficulty of the next race lowers down.
For now, thats about all I got to say. You can play the game to know more and trust me, just give the game a chance. Its been long since we got a Mobile racing game that tries to be good. Try it if you're on the lookout for a new racing game. But this game, sure has a lot to improve. And hoping to see more stuff in the future. Bye yall, thanks if you made it through the whole thing.
