Unhappy Raccoon: Exceeds Expectations
9K View2022-10-09If you want me to get stuck to a game, give it character-based action and diverging upgrade paths. I was excited for Unhappy Raccoon for months, and now that I've gotten a chance to try it, I'm having a blast with it (even though my hands are crying in pain already! Ares with boxing gloves is too much fun.)
So far the enemy types feel fairly challenging. Even for someone who's a hardcore fan of these isometric roguelite setups, I found the later stages to still be a threat in spite of my stacked upgrades. I got to the start of the third stage on my very first run, which was super satisfying! The defense mode was a nice addition too, I like the option of having a faster paced style of playing when I want to try a shorter mode.
I'm also very satisfied with the art direction and designs. Higher-production games have a hard time delivering on any cute, cool, or silly furry characters, but this title has a genuine love for all of it. I easily want to collect each one just on looks alone. I dig the Raccoon God too, super creative!
All I wanna see now is controller support and this punky bunny rabbit that I got to see as a playable character. Please! She's too perfect!

Raccoon Unhappy First Impressions: Gamers Very Happy
The first thing you’re going to have to do with Raccoon Unhappy is ignore the strange title. Ignore the fact that the logo seemingly reverses the title into a much less awkward “Unhappy Raccoon.” And if furry aesthetics are the kind of thing that bothers you, by all means, please ignore those as well. It may seem like a big batch of red flags, but I’m here to tell you that this oddly titled game full of anthropomorphized animal characters is really damn good.

Raccoon Unhappy: First Impressions 🔥 This One BLEW ME AWAY!!
Today we've got a brand new, day 1 roguelike that sets a new bar for mobile games. Filled to the brim with beautiful artwork, arpg combat, deep randomized gear / passives, shops, bosses, challenge rooms, items, and OF COURSE raccoon companions to fuel an experience that only got better as I played more!! The game-changing nature and synergies, on top of QOL features added more to this seemingly-simple blend than expected. The fun factor... I mean, the footage speaks for itself 😄
