If you want me to get stuck to a game, give it character-based action and diverging upgrade paths. I was excited for Unhappy Raccoon for months, and now that I've gotten a chance to try it, I'm having a blast with it (even though my hands are crying in pain already! Ares with boxing gloves is too much fun.)
So far the enemy types feel fairly challenging. Even for someone who's a hardcore fan of these isometric roguelite setups, I found the later stages to still be a threat in spite of my stacked upgrades. I got to the start of the third stage on my very first run, which was super satisfying! The defense mode was a nice addition too, I like the option of having a faster paced style of playing when I want to try a shorter mode.
I'm also very satisfied with the art direction and designs. Higher-production games have a hard time delivering on any cute, cool, or silly furry characters, but this title has a genuine love for all of it. I easily want to collect each one just on looks alone. I dig the Raccoon God too, super creative!
All I wanna see now is controller support and this punky bunny rabbit that I got to see as a playable character. Please! She's too perfect!
I added a couple screenshots! New to posting here :D
