As one of the exclusive games for the PS5 debut, Sackboy: A Big Adventure has now officially launched on PC. Currently, the game has a positive review rate of over 90%, and is arguably the best new family game on PC.
Great PC Optimization
Sackboy: A Big Adventure is the first-ever PC port of the Little Big Planet series, and Sony has obviously put in some big effort.
The game not only kept the full experience of the PS5 DualSense haptic vibration system but also supported a 21:9 ultra-wide screen with 4K resolution and a boosted maximum framerate of 120 fps. Ray tracing and VRR are also supported, and Nvidia has even released a driver update featuring a tailored DLSS option for better performance.
The game also surprisingly supports controller sound effects. When players use props or get gold coins, the DualSense controller will emit a corresponding sound effect.
The controller will also make a lovely wail when Sackboy falls from the platform.
Casting reality in fairy tales
Many players have been shocked by the surprising craft world design of Sackboy: A Big Adventure. With the new ray-tracing technology and the unlocked frame rate, this vast world is becoming more beautiful in a realistic way. The ray-tracing system has significantly enhanced the graphical quality of the ported PC version; players can feel immersed in this beautiful world of fairy tales to experience this while also feeling the little details that make this world exceptionally fun and engaging.
The complex knitting of the lovely Sackboy, the real texture of the interactive items within the map, the rich scene design and the layered shadows all complement the powerful ray-tracing system to bring the game to a higher level of graphical detail.
The game is designed in the way of theme parks with a number of large maps such as snowy mountains, the ocean and space. Each map has its own unique art style and mechanics.
The underwater world brings the excellence of ray tracing to life
In addition to the improved graphics, the higher frame rate also gives this platformer a much better experience, the jumping and grabbing feels fliud and natural.
The grappling hook and boomerang obtained in the middle of the game further expanded the gameplay. There aren't many games that support local co-ops nowadays, and they are even rarer to be this well-made.
So many things to collect
The game has a large number of costumes that can be collected. From Southeast Asian costumes to neon aliens, all of the costumes in Sackboy: A Big Adventure support color customization and mixing and matching of different parts. The core collection system gave me a lot of motivation to move forward in the game; after all, it's a treat for anyone to watch Sackboy running and jumping around in colorful and strange clothing combinations.
The game also collaborates with many of PlayStation's exclusive games, including Ghost of Tsushima, Death Stranding, etc. The Steam pre-order version also comes with two skins, the main protagonists of the Uncharted series, which just ended its exclusivity last month.
So far, the reviews on the game have been very positive. Most players are satisfied with the graphics, controller experience, and even the ported version's keyboard mapping. Despite the custom level designer function was missing, Sack Boy: A Big Advanture still provided amazing content for the whole family to come together and enjoy some local co-op fun.
