Hoard your students, teach them the ways of your dojo and fight your opponents at the tournament until you win it all!
Cobra Kai 2: Dojos Rising Review will tell about the PC/Console game where you will take a role of a dojo master and lead your Karate school to the top. You will have to recruit students, staff, upgrade your dojo and all that by fighting a lot of different people using random weapons and your fists.
First of all you will start by selecting one of 3 Karate schools: Myagi-Do Karate, Cobra Kai or Eagle Fang Karate. Each school have its character and style that will affect the story. Moreover your moveset will depend on the school you will go for as well. So think wisely, but dont focus on this too much, since you will get used to any moveset as you play the game.
Then you will have to go through quick tutorial and move to the actual gameplay. The map of the city with the locations of other students and stuff will be your mission selection screen. And you will have 14 days to gather the team, train them and get ready for the tournament. Areas will be different, with different challenges and characters.
The actual gameplay where you fight others and run around the arena is pretty cool. You can use normal attacks or special skills that look fantastic and if hit the enemy produce special bonuses: Health, Dmg Buff, Extra Gold or Extra XP. You can use skill rotation in order to maximize the gains of the specific resource or for overall.Fights are pretty fun, but some encounter might feel tedious and repetitive. Fight system itself feels good, but a little bit clunky at times. You will need time to get used to controls and learn how skills work to prevent your combos from being interrupted and being chainstunned.
Some levels feature puzzle-minigames elements. Based on what you need to do it can be either extremely fun or pretty annoying and hard. Although they are essential part of the gameplay and required to recruit new characters. So you might require a few tries to get them.
Overall Cobra Kai 2: Dojos Rising seems like a fun game that needs some polish. It feels it wasnt properly tested (at least on PC) and contain some bugs here and there. Other than that its completely playable and fun, so far no game-breaking bugs were encountered. If you are a fan of the TV Series you might add a few points for that and you will defo enjoy this experience.
We hope that this Cobra Kai 2: Dojos Rising review helped you to learn something new about the game or make up your mind about buying it. If you have your own thoughts on The Past Within, let us know in the comments below.
