From Paradise is out on Closed Beta access once more, and I had the privilege to playing it once more. Now, I did cover this game in the last Closed Beta, but I thought it would be good to touch back on the game and see how its going this time around.
From Paradise is the 2nd episode of the "To The Moon" Series, but this is a standalone game and does not require the first game to be played, to understand how this one works. The game is about two doctors who work for a company that give their dying patients the chance to live out their final wish, but only inside their head. In order for them to pass on feeling fulfilled. With the latest patient Colin, they find themselves in a very interesting mission which is full of ups and downs, and some very, very entertaining and heartwarming moments.
Gameplay wise this game can be played with the virtual joystick on either side of the phones screen to move around, and you can also tap to move if you feel like it. It's basically a tap or click type of game. Where you move around exploring the different dreamscapes trying to find all the memory cores hidden in interactable objects or people, in order to unlock the mementos you find. When you find the mementos after using the cores to break the shield around it, you must also do a mini game in order to advance to the next dreamscape. The dialogue is really good and sometimes the comments between the 2 doctors or even the situation occurring in the dreamscape was so funny that I actually laughed out loud many times during my playthrough.
Visually the game seems to have received an overhaul compared to its PC counterpart. The colours seem more vibrant and everything just seems to have an extra level of polish on things. I'm not sure if the PC version will receive an update to make it look like the mobile version, but its cool that the mobile version is an updated version of the game. And I also have to add an extra note on the music. The music is absolutely gorgeous, and the game does recommend you should use headphones to enjoy it to its fullest. While I didn't use a headset to listen to the music personally, just the sound that was coming out of my phones speakers was gorgeous enough to know that it must sound even better with headphones on.
Overall, I'd say that Finding Paradise is looking to be a gorgeous story filled game on mobile devices. I cannot wait for the game to be fully released so I can play it to my hearts content. I'll also make sure to keep a box of tissues nearby for the feels that are sure to come. Make sure to Pre-Register the game so you can play it when it is finally released.
