Hello everyone! I'm SAC, one of the developers of Ballads of Hongye, and we just created our TapTap page. Earlier, I was surprised to find out TapTap community is lively and many gamers here love games and have high expectations from the games they play. I'm thrilled to have this magnificent opportunity to bring you Ballads of Hongye. Our team is enjoying the process of developing it, and we hope you'll have a chance to enjoy it as much as we do.
Our development team has 14 members and most of us are dedicated gamers in city-builder/strategy genre. We are passionate about playing and sharing various city-building games within and outside the team, and we aimed to put some of our ideas into reality. In our game, you will find rich gameplay shaped by our collective efforts; we have spent long(and heated) brain storming sessions and hours of trial and error while building the game bit by bit.
In Ballads of Hongye, players take the mantle of the local Magistrate, overcoming a variety of complex and challenging situations to expand your jurisdiction, and aim to earn the right to rule Hongye County. While doing so, you can create gorgeous cities, revive dead industries and develop them into state-of-the-art while protecting the people and resources from natural disasters and other external dangers.
This process is undoubtedly complex. After all, the player has to manage people well and overcome unique, cleverly crafted challenges. During the journey, you certainly can create a unique experience for yourself, and discover alternative approaches. Different lands offer different challenges. Maybe at the beginning, you need to deal with an income calculation, but as challenges grow, you have to think strategically and plan ahead of time. There will be refugees flooding your borders from other regions, who have become victims of war, or disasters. You have to carefully think on how to deal with them. If you take them all in at one go, your resources will be depleted in no time and security will be in shambles. There is a delicate balance to be discovered by using the tools at your disposal.
Personally, I am very confident in excellent graphics and the beauty of the architectural design in "Ballads of Hongye". Right now, we have more than 100 different buildings. We have eight lands with diverse landscapes, hand-crafted characters, which are small by themselves but snowball into something significant. We are not that realistic, as you can understand from some of the fantasy elements. We have airships, trains, some floating buildings even. We are inspired by ancient Chinese architectural aesthetics and combined them with our own creativity to express them in an emotional and inspiring way. You can even hop on your horse and ride it around your cities to observe your work upclose. We strongly believe that our game is one of the best, if not best, in the visual department in this genre.
Of course, there are many other elements in the game. One example would be the advisers, that you can recruit, and train to help you run errands. They have different abilities but also distinct attitudes toward their work. They may also get dissatisfied with the salary you pay to them, or unhappy about how you do things around Hongye. They can quit by themselves, or they can be poached by another county that suits their needs.
We also have various disasters, a delicate war system, customizable buildings and appearances in our Wonder Building system. We have even written a story about intrigue, revenge, and love; that you can discover if you want to.
"Ballads of Hongye" will be released on Steam on November 15 and will be sold for $9.99, offering a 15% discount during launch week, meaning that train to Hongye costs only $8.49 for the first week after the launch. I hope you will enjoy our game!
Interesting game, beautiful scenes.
