When recently many you have started to use software to work or study from home, like Zoom or other remote conferences. It changed the way people used to think about absorb knowledge, keep learning and practicing.
But have you ever thought that, in fact play some games can also absorb things that make you more knowledgeble and mature.
TapTap
For example, sitting in class and holding your history textbook could make you feel boring. You need to read massive words and memorize them for preparing the exam.
But, how about let you among of history, and explore the virtual ancient open world yourself. You probably can achieve it when playing Assassin's Creed series. From the ancient Egyptian culture, the Greek culture, to The French Revolution.
You can experience the realistic historical sites and humanities, in addition to the mission, you can actually feel the background life of that era.
TapTap
Besides learning knowledge from game, meet new people who you never meet before, chat, work together with them, improve your social life and skill. Minecraft is one of the most typical game you probably know.
Learn the concepts of architecture and space, and build a lattice building, take a great adventure from land to sea, upper ground to underground with other players, it will be the best time.

I learn... that I'm not good at it... well just kidding. First I got to experience having that spatial awareness as part of a complex sense from hearing to vision more like ecolocation but not dolphins. I got that from years of playing fps games but sadly its not in my abilities anymore (years of not playing that type of game). Second is how I got good using technology to my advantage or to being productive. It is an indirect way of influencing me but its the the same cause. The loop of having a game and going through troubleshooting and many ways for it just to be "forcefully" compatible to my device. Though not now, most of my stuff is compatible with the current generation. Third... etc(?)?? Like fast reaction time, scheduled days, wanting to have more collection...uhmm maybe just being plain competitive as is... from many player vs everything games.  A downside (if not controlled) is only addiction....especially if you have many influence to continue and discarding that sense of needing a rest. Just taking a 30min break will do... most of the time. "If Everything is positive, it could also be negative"  Well....

I love this question a lot. As an older gamer, many of my colleagues consider it an immature waste of time, and some of them have actually altered their judgement of me.  So ill tell you what I've told them:  IMPROVED HAND-EYE COORDINATION This is a very legitimate benefit. It's made me a better driver, for example. It has also improved and developed my multi tasking skills IMPROVED CRITICAL THOUGHT AND DECISION MAKING Another benefit of MMO gaming. In order to build a character properly requires thought and good planning. You need to understand your character thoroughly in order to maximize your time and resources in the most efficient manner possible IMPROVED PEOPLE SKILLS Many people overlook this very important skill. Later in life, these skills (or lack thereof) can mean the difference between success and failure within your career. Your chances for promotion depend HIGHLY upon the way you are perceived to interact with other people.  I can easily go on, but I'll limit this post to these 3 important benefits.
