Hi-rez studios sent out invites to try out their new mobile game, based on their PC game, Rogue Company Mobile also known as Rogue Company Elite. Luckily, I was also invited to try out the game and here are my thoughts (this is not a rant). Before I start on my rant about the mobile game, first, you need to know what the original game is about. Rogue Company is an online cross platform tactical hero-shooter developed by First Watch Games and published by Hi-rez Studios. That's a lot of words. Basically, it is Valorant but third-person. Sounds fun? It is if you overlook the bugs and crashes every now and then.
Where's the problem?
The problem is that the mobile game is nothing like its pc version. They took the "tactical" and yeeeeeeeted it out.
The game completely changes routes and transforms into a run-and-gun shooter type, abandoning its roots in a pretty bad attempt to acquire a wider audience in the mobile marketplace.
The BIG changes:
All the rogues, which are the "characters" with different abilities which you play, have been changed to suit this playstyle. Rogues with more "tactical" abilities have been removed.
The most popular modes: Strikeout and Demolition have been scrapped and more generic modes like TDM and King of The Hill have been placed.
Loadouts have been added which completely removes the "buying phase" before each round and respawn, again killing an important factor of the game which was to play "good" in the match to "earn" your weapons, throwables and perks.
Rouges and Weapons can be upgraded to achieve perks which is completely different from the original game where you had to buy the perks in-match.
What happens now?
Don't get me wrong, the game is still very fun to play. The gunplay is great and the graphics are amazing! It runs well as far as I've played. But I really hope that they address these changes and hopefully add some of the originality back into the game.
Why tf would anyone compare a pc game to it's mobile counterpart? Obviously they have to make some sacrifices because of HW limitations and it's in beta stage, so they can add in later updates. Very poor review. 💩💩💩

This is true but then the core gameplay is completely different and that’s what the post was about, to inform about the changes. I know this is the beta and hope they make some changes in future.

Valorant but in third person? That's a funny analogy. Though from my perspective it looks more like Fortnite but team deathmatch xD

Author likedThe game on pc is a lot more tactical like Valorant. It has heroes with abilities and one of the main gamemodes is literally Search and Destroy (it’s called Demolition). The mobile one on the other hand is a lot like Fortnite in a sense, it’s just shoot everyone else the whole time.

Ah yes definitely those customers running the game on a toaster can afford to pay for in-game microtransactions. Use your brain bud, F2P games earn their income from players who spend money on it, those who can afford it will not try to play the game on a phone not meeting the minimum HW requirements
