Tale of Elements: Survivors is a roguelike game that focuses on DECK BUILDING, and TURN BASED COMBAT, and for whatever reason, the games description on the play store and on the TapTap store is VERY MISLEADING.
I'm not sure if the developers are wanting to play pranks on the players, but the description of the game, and the screenshots of the game are completely different to what the game actually is. And to be honest, I find it pretty funny. But I don't know if it truly works in their favor. I'd probably not be as interested in playing this game if I judged it on the description and screenshots alone. But oh man was I in for a surprise once I got into the game itself.
Gameplay wise, the game starts off pretty much as is promised. As a type of roguelike game where you're surrounded by zombies and must attack with random skills and try to survive... And you can actually play this mode for a long time as long as you keep getting health vials, but if you do die, and I recommend you do die... The actual game will begin. And at this point is where you will find out that the beginning part of the game was a trick! Now you will begin your turn based gaming journey with a gacha system to grow your team and a roguelite experience that was truly very fun. There are various different classes and races to gain for your teams, and they all seem to be females too, so rejoice if you want to grow your waifu harem, you can do that in this game. And you even get a free SP healer after completing Capter 2-5 if I remember correctly.
All characters start at tier 1, and you can upgrade their tiers by dismissing other characters of the same class from the gacha building, called the Mercenary Union. So far I haven't had many issues gathering summoning gems, and the game does give you a guaranteed SS character after you have summoned a total of 10 S rank characters. There is an arena for PVP but at this moment, the season hasn't started. So I couldn't sample the Arena unfortunately.
Visually I'd say that Takes of Elements: Survivors is a gorgeous anime style game, and it looks NOTHING like it does on the store page screenshots. This game has fantastic anime artwork for the characters and the models are very detailed too, they kind of give me a Tree of Savior art style vibe. I really enjoy the art style of this game, and I'm still confused as to why they are advertising a completely different type of game in the store.
Overall I'd say that Tale of Elements: Survivors is a fantastic game, with a confusing advertising situation on the store pages. This game is nothing like is advertised and is something even better. The combat is fun and the randomness of the dungeon situations are interesting too. The art style is fantastic and it's just a super fun game.
I will definitely keep playing this one... However, one thing I found kind of confusing was how come when I tried to load up this game on my phone, it wouldn't carry over the data from my emulator, even though I believe I'm signing in with the same email address. I'm pretty sure I haven't bound my google account to this game before, but the game says my google account is bound to another save. Which is really weird... Especially since when I logged in with the google account on my phone, there is no saved content on that account. In the end I bound my account to Facebook which seemed to work. So keep that in mind if you have similar issues to me.
Is this game still alive?
