One Witch Against them all!!

The Knight Witch is a beautifully hand-drawn adventure game with metroidvania elements, bullet hell like gameplay, puzzle solving and also deck building. It's definitely one of the most creative games I have played this year, I can tell you that much. You play as Rayne, a newbie knight witch who has the task to save her home from a War Golem invasion and to find out who is responsible and what their motives are. With the ability to fly and to cast powerful card-based spells, you are ready to overcome all the challenges you will come across.

Beautiful visuals, fluid gameplay, an interesting and well-paced story, challenging (boss-)fights. As long as you enjoy metroidvanias, aren't afraid of (little) bullet hell games and don't hate card decks... a joy to play. After a worldwide war where the Knight Witches defeated a billionaire who devasted the earth, the rest of humanity (including you and your husband) were forced to live in an underground village. 14 peaceful years later suddenly an army of orcs (or in this case golems) invade the underground city and capture your friends. You are not a Knight Witch (yet), but you once trained to become one and so you can already fight and fly.

I love the Metroidvania genre, and I really appreciate how The Knight Witch brings something truly unique to it. This sub-genre has become oversaturated in the indie game space. There are dozens of choices for great Metroidvania games to play, so when one tries something new, it really helps it stand out—and The Knight Witch definitely stands out.
