Now, I never thought that I would stick around with Genshin Impact for almost 2 years now without missing a day to login since I downloaded the game way back year 2021 of April. At first, I thought I will just get bored with it for 2 or 4 months, you know something like that, but this game hits different.
The game has compelling story that makes you wanna stay and learn more about it. The game play is something new for me at that time, there's exploration where you can glide through the air, swim in rivers, lakes, the sea, and climb trees and ginormous mountains! The area to explore is quite vast too.
The combat for novice players are kinda confusing because there's elemental reactions, different team comps, and all that stuff, but again this game is quite popular that there's a lot of content on YouTube you can watch for various guides if you feel at loss.
Graphics and BGM are top notch considering Hoyoverse is always giving their best for every games they make, but what really captivated me to this game is the superb voice acting and how the VAs give life and portray the characters in the game. And even without voice-over, some of the quests will hit you so hard, it gives you a mini-depression (man I still can't look at Tsurumi and Serai island after finishing that world quest with that NPC named Ruu.............( T _T)
Also, I know a lot of people don't like most of the mechanics of the game, just like my older brother who did tried playing Genshin Impact too, but since he failed several times to complete Amber's gliding test, he just said, "Nah, I quit. I don't want any hassle." And I get that, I too failed some challenges in the game and even spent hours to just complete it, and when I did, it gives this sense of "Wow, so that's how you do that."
The game can offer you a lot of things too, from exploring, combat, hunting achievements, scavenging for treasures, and collecting waifu and husbandos! Man, I remembered when I picked Lumine, I was like, "Nah, I'll just collect waifus in this game and that's it."
And today, I can attest that sometimes, the best waifu is a husbando, lol. Seriously tho, all the characters are great and the VAs are talented too. Just remember not to spend your entire life saving to get them all, haha. Not me, seriously.
Overall, I'm glad that I took my friends word to try out this game. Basically, to sum it up, it was a hell of the ride and I can't wait for more! Oh yeah, if you wanna try it out too, I suggest you don't just go and dive in and start whaling. This game can be played as and F2P, and if you really want to spend money on it, just do the Blessing of the welkin moon and battle pass, those will already suffice to give you a little boost when you start your adventure in Teyvat.
