In today's Developer Diary entry, we will discuss and look into all-new gameplay for a future version of the game: the Ultimate Showdown, a hunting race!

1. [About the Ultimate Showdown]
In the harsh Ekors environment, only Hunters adept at using Kallar against beasts will survive. Among the Vyderans, the best of these Hunters is called the Ultimate Victor.
To select the strongest Ultimate Hunters in Vyderan, the Hunters' Association decided to hold a one-on-one hunting race every season. Hunters are divided into two factions, red and blue, to hunt the same beast without interfering with the other faction's hunt.
The Ultimate Showdown is a grand celebration where all Vyderan Hunters seek to become the Ultimate Victor and achieve the greatest glory.

2. [Rules of the Ultimate Showdown]
Schedule
The Ultimate Showdown is divided into 4 stages: Preliminaries, Heats, Round of 64, and Finals.

Preliminaries
Hunters of decent caliber will be selected through the Preliminaries.
Hunters have to challenge 5 fierce beasts within a time limit. Those who succeed will move on to the next stage.

Heats
In this stage, Hunters will compete in one-to-one hunting races. The top 64 Hunters with the most victories and best times will proceed to the next stage and become one of the Ultimate Challengers.

Round of 64
Based on the Hunters' ranking in the Heats, this stage is further divided into 8 zones, with 3 elimination rounds.
In each elimination round, Hunters have to challenge 3 consecutive hunting races. The first Hunter to get 2 wins will move on, until 8 victors emerge as the Ultimate Scions.

Finals
With all eyes on them, the 8 Ultimate Scions will compete for the title of Ultimate Victor, the highest of all glories!
In the quarterfinals, these 8 Hunters will be matched based on the zones from the previous stage, and 3 elimination rounds will be held to determine the final 4.
By getting 2 victories out of 3 rounds again, the top 2 winners will then emerge from the final 4.
In the runner-up and championship finals, Hunters will face even bigger challenges. They will compete in 5 consecutive hunting races, and the Hunter who bags 3 wins first will advance, until the Ultimate Victor is determined.

3. [Rewards]
1st Place: Besides the title of Ultimate Victor, the champion will also get these fantastic rewards: Victor's Wings, a back cosmetic symbolizing the highest glory, and Glorious Light, a stunning special effect.
2nd & 3rd Places: These Hunters will receive the title of Ultimate Honor, and the special effect Glorious Light.
Quarter Finalists: These Hunters will receive the title of Ultimate Scion and reward items.
Round of 64 Hunters: These Hunters will receive the title of Ultimate Challenger.

4. [Gameplay Design]
This is the ultimate hunting race that every Hunter can participate in. Unlike daily quests and explorations, we hope you can make the most of your hunting skills in the Ultimate Showdown.
In this feature, you can choose your weapons, Schools, and equipment to experience the pure thrill of hunting challenges, and pursue the highest glory.
i. Setting
The Ultimate Showdown takes place in a vast arena. While it is built based on Vyderan styles, it also includes architecture beyond Vyderan styles, blending the real and Kallar worlds together beautifully.
There are three platforms in the scene: 2 [battle platforms] and 1 [victory platform].
During the Ultimate Showdown, Hunters of opposing factions will go against the same type of beasts on the individual battle platforms. The central platform is the [victory platform]. The Kallar screen above will show the two Hunters' names and race information in real-time, recreating the broadcast screen of eSports tournaments.
After a Hunter wins, they will be transported to the victory platform for an appearance. At the end of the Ultimate Showdown, the final victor will raise their trophy here so all Hunters can witness their moment of glory.

ii. Logo
All flags in the arena are printed with the symbols of Drak-hai and Mae-shien. These two opposing beasts also represent the fierce competition between the strongest Hunters in the Ultimate Showdown.

iii. Specialty
Compared to the linear main quests and World Exploration, the Ultimate Showdown's specialty is allowing two players to compete in a hunting race at the same time in the same space.
During the race, you'll be able to see the opponent's situation, raising your immersion in the game significantly.
We encourage Hunters to use different weapons and equipment for your challenges. After all, your final rank is determined by your victories and hunting duration.
While this may be more demanding on skills and equipment knowledge, we want to keep this level of freedom to make things fun for you.
