Space Colonizers - The Sandbox is a fantastic example of how idle games can be simple and extremely entertaining at the same time without being absolutely boring and filled with ads.
TIME PLAYED
I played Space Colonizers for two hours, with each level lasting between ten to twenty minutes. Missions became much more difficult as I progressed, so levels might take longer than twenty minutes later in the game.
WHAT’S AWESOME
• Gameplay. Space Colonizers follows the same formula I’ve seen in many idle games of tapping endlessly to make progress. However, it also provides a much more fulfilling and enjoyable experience through simple yet charming missions.
• No forced ads. Space Colonizers is probably one of the only idle games I’ve ever played that doesn’t have forced ads at all. Optional ads are offered up for small incentives, but I never needed to sacrifice my time to progress through the game, which felt out of this world.
• Music. Space Colonizers has really great music too. The game features one upbeat techno tune playing in the background that had me grooving along while I played.
WHAT SUCKS
• Slightly repetitive. Although I found Space Colonizers’s gameplay more enjoyable and amusing than most idle titles, it doesn’t completely step away from the genre. As such, it inevitably grows slightly repetitive over time.
SHOULD YOU PLAY IT?
Yes. Space Colonizers is a great idle game that has kept me entertained and engaged for several hours already, which is more than I can say about many also-ran idle games.
